Apple Crisp Please !

After eating a bowl of apple crisp flavored oatmeal this morning Trevor turns to me and says.....

You should get a good apple crisp recipe.

Hello! I have a good recipe and I've made it several times before. Maybe not for quite awhile - like..... maybe two..... or three.... years ago. But I have a good recipe. At least I thought it was good.

My thought about baking sweets is that it than has to be eaten. And, being I'm the one who is at home guess whose butt it attaches itself to. So, I very rarely make desserts that are going to be sitting around calling my name all day.

I suppose after taking a couple years off, a pan of apple crisp might actually be okay. Now, if I can just find that recipe. Hmmmm.

Oh, wouldn't you know it - I'm out of apples!!!

You make me smile. My husband loves Apple Crisp!! He makes it for himself though because he's the only one that eats it. Aren't I horrible?!??!

Yum..warm apple crisp! I know what you mean about the desserts calling your name all day! My hubby loves to have sweets around, I think I need to practice better self control! Hope you find your recipe!

The key is to make it and freeze it and then serve it when you have company so your husband can still have it yet you aren't eating it all youself while at home. That's how I do it or I would eat the whole thing by myself.

Tis the season for a good apple crisp! I have been hearing about an apple orchard in Brookings and a apple orchard/pumpkin patch in Sioux Falls and thought it would be so fun to take the kids and let them help pick apples and make them into desserts. If the weather warms up a little I think I might have to do that.

I just made 7 apple pies and cake for "my boys" who are working on the house. I don't need to peel an apple for awhile. Oh do I know about the butt thing. Thankfully there were only a couple of pieces left and husband took care of those.

I am the same way! I love to bake, but my bum is begging me not to! I should say my jeans are begging me not to!

I hope you post the recipe!

Oh, there is a fun apple orchard/pumpkin patch in SF. We went there last year and they have a train ride for kids and ponies plus a petting zoo. Whose up for a road trip?

I love my mother in laws apple crisp. I have her recipe, but I make it in a glass pan and she makes hers in a metal pan. They taste completley dif. Her's is way, WAY better.

I agree with you on the deserts just sitting around calling your name. Same happens in our house, too. But, I still make the stuff. I never learn. :0)
