Our Freezer Runneth Over!

Today my Dad stopped by and filled our chest freezer full of beef. I don't mean like ten packages, no, no, I mean like seventy or more. From steaks of all kinds to roasts and ground beef. We didn't have to pay a thing. He does this from time to time for me helping out on the farm. Of course that's not the only payment I get for working on the farm but it sure is a great way to show his appreciation. It's such a blessing to us and a huge money saver. Don't tell him but I would work for free just because I love it so much.

That was so nice of him. I'm sure he appreciates all your help at the farm.

We also just filled up our freezer with 1/4 of a cow. Isn't that the best meat!

That's so sweet!

I love the pictures of the kids on your sidebar. I bet that one of Kale would be great black and white. And look at Nikia - she's adorable!

Wow, glad you guys eat beef! My boss gave us a bunch of beef once. It was so generous, but we don't really eat much of it. I shared with my parents. It's so great to have people bless us in such kind ways.

i'm still in transistion after moving from the farm. we used to 'order' our beef with the other three families and have it delivered all packaged and enough to last us a year. now i have to buy it as i go at the grocery store like city folks! i never got it for free though...but then again i didn't work very hard either. i did do more than my fair share of roundin' up loose cows, which was quite funny to watch as i am far from a farm girl!

That is a huge money saver! We checked into ordering just half a beef and for the meat alone, it was $1000!!! When Craig and I moved we had just ordered half a beef. We ran out of hamburger really fast and I was certain that the butcher screwed up and didn't give us all of our meat. Craig had to admit to me that when I was putting the hamburger away I forgot a WHOLE box and he threw it away. He didn't want to say anything because he knew had mad I would have been at myself. He was right!

Wow, that's wonderful. What a blessing. That's what "family" is all about. My question....when are you having all us bloggy friends over for the steak cookout?hehe

I love to eat BEEF. We should really check into getting something like that. Certainly NOT a WHOLE cow...but part of it.

That was a great gift from dear ol' dad!

We purchased a 1/4 beef when he first moved to S.D. and rented a locker. I didn't realize how many steaks, roasts, etc., that would produce. That lasted us a very long time. I can't even begin to imagine how much beef you now have. What a great gift from your Dad.

My hubby's company does this and we get some and I'll admit it is nice to have, but sometimes I do feel "beefed out." ha ha

Quintin does like the rock wall but he is still a little timid to climb too high - maybe he'll break out of his shell this summer. We have a second big wall in the back yard, I'll have to show that one sometime because I fear that is the one the kids will try to jump off of with bikes and such :(

Hey, who would have thougth I would have become so tech-savy when just a few weeks ago I was asking you how to get all the cool colors in your posts? he he (Did I tell you that I was composing my posts in html? duh me!)
