Tonight Nikia asks if I care if she sleeps downstairs in the living room since she doesn't have school in the morning. I told her that was fine, thinking she would just sleep on the couch. Nope. She brought down her Hello Kitty sleeping bag and set it all up on her own. It's the kind that has the air mattress built right in. She pumped it up and climbed in.

Before I okayed it for her to sleep downstairs I reminded her that she wouldn't be able to sleep-in since she'd get woke up from the rest of us being up early. She said "that's why I want to sleep down here, so that I won't miss Daddy. I want to tell him goodbye in the morning." She's such a sweetie.

No wonder they steal our hearts when they say things like that!! What a cutie, inside and out.

Ahhhh....

My girls are crazy silly like that with their daddy too. He comes home most every day for lunch and he will be getting ready to go back to work and hollar, "Bye girls, I'm leaving now." And no matter where they are in the house they come screaming, "No daddy wait, we need hugs and kisses!"

No one gets that excited when I say I'm leaving!

Ohh how precious. She is so cute!
My daughter likes Hello Kitty too!

Both my kids do that in the morning too. They want to make sure they see daddy. Especially Megan as Derek is always up beings he has to go to school. Megan gets upset if she doesn't' get to see dad in the morning before he leaves for work. She'll say, "I just wanted to give him a hug."

What is it about little girls and their daddy's? Brooklyn is the same way. Craig left for Pierre and was going to be gone one night and you would of thought he was leaving forever the way Brooklyn was crying. I leave for one night and she helps me carry my bags to the Blazer. I think they have a wild party while I am gone! Although I was on the way back from my grandpa's funeral and Brooklyn had to call and tell me she was looking at my picture because she missed me! Nikia is so cute! What a good girl for airing up her mattress all by herself!

There is definately a difference with a daddy and his daughter. Although Caymen isn't old enough yet, I can see that she'll have her daddy wrapped around her finger!!

That is so sweet!!! Don't worry Heidi - I'm lucky if I get a "see ya later mom" when I leave!

Yeah I have girls and they are like that with Dad too. Even though the oldest 2 are 13 and 14, they still have to give Daddy a hug and kiss goodbye.(Even if they've had a disagreement, which is nice to see that they don't hold a grudge.) It's a great way to get my 8 yr old outa bed in the morning too!
:o)

What a cutie and what a sweet heart girl! Daddy leaves so early in the morning, I don't even get to say bye, much less the children. But, when he gets home after work - watch out!

Cute kid. Cute Hello Kitty sleeping bag. (I'm a closet H.K. fan. OK, I guess I'm not in the closet on that anymore.)

See, I get just the opposite.

After 8 years in the trenches then switching places with my wife as a happy homemaker, I get the "when is Daddy going back to work?" whine -- mostly from the girls...only occasionally from my wife.

Then I tell them that if Daddy goes back to work, Mommy gets to cook.

That usually quiets the crowd right down.

That is the cutest sleeping bag ever. Why didn't they have those when my girls were little, with the air mattress built right in???
As for lovin' daddy, my oldest, who is 23, she was that way from day one and is still a daddy's girl. I'm her problem solver and he's her hero.
